Session 1st November 2020
Painting the Anthropocene: Nature, Landscape and Ownership
We were joined by three artists, Judith Belzer, Philip Govedare and Elsa Muñoz to explore the concept of nature, what it means to paint the landscape and look at questions of ownership and land use. Homo sapiens has always left an imprint on its environment; we looked at how this interaction has led to human beings carving into the very structure of the planet we inhabit, the politics at play in the Anthropocene and some ways in which this can be translated into paint.
