Pictures and words don't always sit well together and Elina Cerla is inviting you to share her enjoyment of Siri Hustvedt and James Elkins and their refreshing approach to writing about painting.

We've only got a week so just a taster of the opening chapters of two books: Mysteries of the Rectangle by Siri Hustvedt and Picture & Tears by James Elkins. Rather than avoiding emotions, both writers dive straight in to embrace these and the subjectivity of looking.
